父亲病危，久未归家的王华军急赴襄阳。高铁上，王华军做了一个梦，父子间水与火般的情感故事、冲动压抑的青春时光，一幕幕再现。送别父亲，陪母亲散心的日子里，王华军参加了一场同学聚会，阔别18年，同学们和整个城市发生的巨大变化，给王华军造成强烈的撞击。他产生了梦幻感，感觉自己像个外来的客人。他在这个熟悉的陌生城市里寻找，昔日热血激荡的兄弟，如今都臣服于生活；朝思暮想的校花李静，不知踪迹。 恋恋不舍登上返回上海的列车，车窗外走来昔日的恋人李静。无奈车已启动，擦肩而过，一切都是命运的安排。。In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power.
