此剧讲述一个平凡的农村青年决定在重重挑战下，向外面发展自己人生的故事。。故事发生在常年寒冷的落基山脉，贝西（黛安·基顿 Diane Keaton 饰）和丈夫约瑟夫（凯文·克莱恩 Kevin Kline 饰）已经记不得他们结婚多久了，至少久到他们的孩子们也组成了自己的家庭。约瑟夫向来是个以自我为中心的男人，每天都沉浸在自己的世界里，这让贝西倍感孤独。 某日，贝西意外的捡到了一只流浪狗，善良的贝西收留了它，并且为它取名“Freeway”。粘人的小狗让贝西苍白的人生又重新恢复了光彩，一人一狗间产生了友谊。哪知道，一场意外中，约瑟夫弄丢了小狗，他从来也没见过妻子发这么大的火。贝西和好友们决定组织一支搜救队，去寻找小狗的下落。。A troupe of struggling stage actors is rehearsing for a small-town production of a play. Everything seems to be as it should until one of the cast members turns up dead. In a panic, the others try to get out, only to find they are now locked in the theater with the killer!
