1937年，卢沟桥事变，抗日战争全面爆发。方振东与万子卿都参加了北平守军的学兵团。血战中，俩人成为挚友，并同时爱上了潼关杜家的大小姐杜兰云。然而方、万两家却交恶数百年。大敌当前，方振东，万子卿努力化解两家恩怨，共同抗日。日军兵抵潼关，杜兰云为救方振东，谎称自己怀了方振东的孩子并决心嫁给方振东。之后在与日军的一场血战中，万子卿只身归来，方振东“战死疆场”。此时杜兰云已经怀了方振东的孩子。万子卿得知后，主动表示愿意做这个孩子的父亲。就在二人预备重结连理时，却赫然发现方振东并没有死。最终，民族大义化解了爱恨恩怨。。A pilots pregnant wife is killed by a band of thugs who break into their home. The gang is caught and sent off to prison.
