In her new documentary, Waad Al-Kateab (director of the Oscar nominated For Sama) shows us the dramatic challenges faced by refugee athletes who competed for a place in the 2020 Olympic Games. Narrated in first person and often asking herself difficult questions, Al-Kateab listens to the athletes who have seen their dreams vanish and accompanies them through their suffering.。A mad scientist is forced to leave San Francisco when his experiments become known. He lands on a tropical island, takes control and terrorizes the local populace. The survivor of a shipwreck washes ashore on the island, sees what is happening and determines to free the natives from his rule.。故事从1978年讲起，陈福生是一名电影放映员，育有一子名为陈焕。干部林汉民是陈福生的邻居，而他的女儿林平平和陈焕则是从小玩到大的青梅竹马。在文革中，林汉民蒙冤受罚，而品学兼优的林平平亦因为父亲的政治问题无缘理想中的大学，与此同时，陈焕被师范大学录取，两人从此渐行渐远。之后，林汉民的冤屈遭到了平反，之后，林平平进入了北京大学深造，而她和陈焕之间的缘分亦遭受着种种考验。时间如流水一般静静流淌，在时代车轮飞速向前旋转的同时，陈家和林家，这些小人物的命运被迫裹挟在轮下，不断向前。。
