在西部的荒漠小镇，村民甲为了给女儿看病四处筹资，同时还找到某旅店经理索要旧账，结果被臭骂而归。这时，旅店突然汇聚了一伙人，有讨要货物的生意人，“替天行道”三人组，维护正义的安保二人等等。他们因为各自目的而来，却相互认错、彼此隐瞒，个个成了“社会戏精”。最后，这一场闹剧以好人村民甲的圆满人生而结束。。The story takes us back to 1889, in the wake of primary school teacher Louise Violet who is sent to a village in the French countryside to enforce Republic schooling (which is free, compulsory and secular). It’s a mission which secures her unpopularity, among children and parents alike…。
