本片是为庆祝日本朝日电视台成立45周年的巨献，根据《爱新觉罗.溥杰传》改编，由龙居由佳里编写。 清朝最后的皇帝溥仪的弟弟溥杰（竹野内丰 饰），在辛亥革命推翻清王朝后，前往日本留学，并和樱井哲士少尉（反町隆史 饰）在军中成为莫逆之交。后在傀儡政权伪满洲国与日本的亲善政策之下，回到中国和日本名门贵族千金嵯峨浩（常盘贵子 饰）结婚，成为“日满亲善”的象徵。立场尴尬的溥杰与浩虽是政治婚姻，却真心相爱、彼此信任。1945年随著日本战败，伪满洲国政权瓦解。溥杰遭苏联逮捕，浩历经千辛万苦，带著女儿逃回日本。在中日断交的阻隔之下，两人从此被迫分离…… 饱受命运捉弄的溥杰与浩，该如何跨越战争、国境与历史的试炼，证明彼此是此生唯一真爱？。White Lies is described as an “urgent exploration of race and privilege, inequality and identity.” Set in the wealthy neighbourhood of Bishopscourt, Cape Town, the series is described as following investigative journalist Edie Hansen (Dormer) as she gets caught up in the ugly underbelly that lies beneath the picturesque beauty of the city, dragging her back to a turbulent past....。Adolescence can be tough, especially for young queer people who haven’t quite figured it out.
