影片改自讲谈社出版的同名漫画，讲述了热衷于抱石攀岩的女高中生小寺的逐梦故事。一转眼，满男已经是一名小学生了，为人舅父的寅次郎（渥美清饰）回家庆贺，晚上，他从家里溜出去买醉，遇见了一位看上去穷困潦倒的老伯（宇野重吉饰），善良的寅次郎将老伯带回了家里过夜，哪知道醉酒的老伯竟然将这里当成了旅馆，指指点点，挑三拣四。 酒醒之后，老伯发现自己闹了大乌龙，十分的不好意思，于是要来了纸笔，一番龙飞凤舞。寅次郎拿着老伯的画去店里卖，竟然卖得了七万日元，此时的寅次郎才得知，这位老伯，竟然就是日本画大师池内青观。之后，寅次郎和老伯又意外的重逢了，两人一见如故，四处游玩，邂逅了善良热情的艺妓牡丹。。The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios. Urban is a fluent Spanish-speaker, and plays an uncredited role as the Argentine radio operator.。
