(Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。解放初期，湘西匪患严重，国民党残党败部与当地土匪勾结，为害乡里，当地民众怨声载道。人民解放军剿匪小分队队长、人送外号“东北虎”的刘玉堂，带领剿匪小分队深入大山，和匪首田大榜、钻山豹、独眼聋以及国民党女特务四丫头等反动势力展开一连串殊死搏斗。剿匪小分队在付出巨大的牺牲之后，终于将匪患根绝。。
